1. Overview

EAN Snap is a browser extension that detects EAN/GTIN barcodes on e-commerce product pages. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we access, what we store, and what we share.

2. Data We Collect

We do not collect any personal data. Specifically:

• We do not record your browsing history.
• We do not transmit page content to any external server.
• We do not store barcodes or product information outside your device.
• We do not use analytics or tracking services.

3. Local Storage

The extension uses the browser's chrome.storage.local API to save your preferences on your device only. This includes:

• Your blacklisted sites (sites where detection is disabled)
• Your user settings (e.g. auto-copy preference)

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

4. Permissions & Host Access

The extension requests the following permission:

• storage — to save your settings locally, as described above.

The extension runs content scripts on all websites (<all_urls>) in order to detect EAN/GTIN barcodes on retail product pages. This broad access is necessary because users source products from new stores continuously — the sites cannot be enumerated as a static list. The extension does not read, store, or transmit any content from pages where no barcode is detected, and never sends scraped data to our servers.

5. Payment & License

License payments are handled by ExtPay (extensionpay.com), a third-party payment platform. The free features need no account. If you start the Pro trial or buy a license, ExtPay records a pseudonymous identifier for your browser installation, the email address you enter on its page, and the date of your trial or purchase. The extension checks your license status with ExtPay using that identifier. Card payments are processed by Stripe through ExtPay; we never receive or store your card details. 6. Third-Party Services

For certain sites (e.g. Shopify storefronts), the extension may make a direct API request to the same website you are already visiting in order to retrieve product barcode data. Apart from the license check above, the extension itself makes no request to any other server.

Some actions send data elsewhere, but only when you click them:

• Amazon / Google Shopping buttons open a search for the barcode on that site.
• SellerAmp button (Pro) passes the barcode and the page price to your SellerAmp SAS extension.
• ProfitGo button (Pro) opens the ProfitGo panel with the barcode, the page price and the page address, which ProfitGo / ProfitPath receive.

Those services apply their own privacy policies. EAN Snap is not affiliated with them.

7. Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the extension. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
