EAN Snap is a browser extension that detects EAN/GTIN barcodes on e-commerce product pages. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

2. Data We Collect

We do not collect any personal data. Specifically:

We do not record your browsing history.
We do not transmit page content to any external server.
We do not store barcodes or product information outside your device.
We do not use analytics or tracking services.

3. Local Storage

The extension uses chrome.storage.local to save your preferences on your device only:

Blacklisted sites (sites where detection is disabled)
User settings (e.g. auto-copy preference)

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

4. Permissions

The extension requests one permission: storage — to save your settings locally. Content scripts run on all pages to detect barcodes. No page data is sent to external servers.

5. Payment & License

License payments are handled by ExtPay (extensionpay.com). We do not receive or store your payment card details. See ExtPay Privacy Policy.

6. Third-Party Services

For certain sites (e.g. Shopify storefronts), the extension may call the API of the site you are already visiting to retrieve barcode data. No request is made to third-party servers.

7. Children

This extension is not directed at children under 13.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The date above will be revised accordingly.
